ABOUT
The investigation of lithium ion batteries and the development of new technologies to help improve recycling are going to become increasingly important to automotive and consumer technologies in the future. It is this fact and my own belief that we should be improving recycling processes and limiting our impact on our planet that drove my decision to do this PhD. This research involves a lot of materials and thermal characterisation, electrochemistry and microscopy techniques. I hope to build upon these techniques for the rest of my PhD and beyond into my career, where I hope to continue researching novel battery materials that could be utilised in a wide range of industries and applications whilst also working to increase recycle efficiency as much as possible.
